Dr. Elsa de Menezes Fernandes
Dr. Elsa de Menezes Fernandes is a highly experienced and UK-trained Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 30 years of specialist experience. Based in Dubai since 2008, she has built a reputation for providing exceptional care in both obstetrics and gynaecology.
Education & Training: She completed her postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in London at renowned hospitals including The Whittington, University College, and The Royal Marsden. She gained membership with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and further specialized in Maternal Medicine and vast Gynaecological Oncology experience, and minimal access and invasive surgeries.
Specialist Care: Dr. Elsa is passionate about maternal medicine and has a special interest in managing high-risk pregnancies. She is highly skilled in performing both open and laparoscopic surgery, including abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies, myomectomies, and hysteroscopic procedures. She is also well-versed in treating medical complications during pregnancy and works closely with other specialists to ensure comprehensive care for her patients.

She is dedicated to supporting women’s birth choices, with a strong emphasis on achieving safe motherhood. Dr. Elsa is a strong advocate for vaginal delivery and works to ensure a compassionate and individualized approach to labour and delivery.
Accolades & Continuing Education: Dr. Elsa is a member of the British Maternal and Foetal Medicine Society and is on the UK Specialist Register with a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). She regularly attends advanced medical courses, enhancing her expertise in areas such as renal diseases and medical complications during pregnancy. Her work has been published in various medical journals, underscoring her commitment to the advancement of women’s healthcare.
